LOVE'S INSANITY

It took no time before Martinez got hold of the word. Being who she is, of course, she didn't take it kindly. She was an entrepreneur, her ‘own’ boss. That being so, she could get away with much without anyone questioning her decisions. Like turning up at my job's place at 10.00 am unannounced. She proceeded to my boss' office, just so he could bring her to my office you know, nothing much. Not that it was a request either. My bored workmates, from the front row, witnessed the drama unfold, they knew what was up. They had social media accounts too. It was an expensive glass-furnished office space. Most people had a 270-degree view or more. As soon as I saw them both approaching, I knew it was time to polish my resume, for I was going to join the unemployment club sooner than later. And categorically the single's squad as well. It was a war. And everything is fair in love and war. This was both, stakes were even higher. Like my dignity, for instance. Maybe it was time to leave town, except I was on the 14th floor. Wait, is that too high? How much do parachutes cost? Is it too late to pretend that I don't speak English?
